Veronica is the founding Director of Ashgrove/ Clayfield Counselling Service and has over 20 years experience, both in Australia and internationally, counselling families and couples and in the assessment of children. Veronica holds a Masters Degree in Guidance & Counselling from The University of Queensland as well as other degrees and qualifications in psychology, psychotherapy and education.
Veronica has been sought-after to occupy pivotal counselling and psychotherapy positions; educational positions and community development and youth service roles due to her extensive range of knowledge and experience. She values her time lecturing for Curtin University and Central Queensland University and roles in Community Services but always finds herself drawn back to her first interest: working directly with individuals, couples and families.
Living and working in remote communities as well as capital cities has given Veronica a real appreciation of the value, dignity and worth of every human being. Her central belief is that each person has an in-built desire for happiness and that the aim of counselling is provide the insight and tools to enable each person to be able to confidently pursue their own happiness in their own way.
Her approach is respectful, empathic and strengths-based and empowers clients in practical long and short term ways.
Veronica enjoys keeping up-to-date with the latest methods and techniques in counselling and
psychotherapy and is currently studying towards her Ph. D. in her area of special interest.
Veronica’s strong commitment to empowering others in their own life is evident in her counselling and psychotherapy approach. Every person is unique, special and has particular needs and preferences as well as talents. Veronica adapts her practice to each person’s needs.
